1996: Innovation by Tradition leads to seamless redundancy.

After five short years - the market had just gotten used to the new innovative competitor - and COPA-DATA introduces again. The time since the market introduction was well used. In 1996, its continuous development bestowed zenon as the first HMI/SCADA system with seamless redundancy. A concept that has since been proven in countless critical applications and plant applications. Even today, 10 years later, it still brings clear advantages over the normal hot-standby solutions. COPA-DATA had again proven its role as a technical trailblazer.

1996 was also the starting point for COPA-DATA's path to the international market. Because one thing had become clear very quickly: In an increasingly networked-thinking world, a purely national company could not be sustainably operated. COPA-DATA thus consistently entered into international partnerships and aligned its strategy with internationalization.  

1998 = Continuity: zenon 5 sets further milestones

zenon proves that a dream can become reality: A single software for ALL Windows platforms. zenon was thus the first integrated HMI/SCADA software. This integration is an important unique selling point of zenon to this day: One software for all platforms from Windows CE to XP and Server 2003, including 64 Bit versions even to www.

But that was not all. As second feature with far-reaching consequences, zenon 5 received its integrated network technology. And in 1998, the mobile automation world was thus presented with its first professional solution: zenon PDA with full operation and monitoring functionality with fully-fledged network integration.

COPA-DATA s international contacts were expanding in the meantime and lead to profitable market presence. After years of continued growth, the first foreign subsidiary of the COPA-DATA Group was founded in 1999 with COPA-DATA Germany. In the next year already, the second subsidiary followed: COPA-DATA Italy.

In the millennium year 2000, COPA-DATA set the next standard with circular redundancy^©. One which, most notably, protects resources and investments of the user. COPA-DATA's circular redundancy enables a highly-secure, redundant network with distributed intelligence to be realized with limited hardware resources. Such solutions are already being used worldwide today from users of many systems. Whoever wanted to profit from this already back then used zenon.
