Monitor Administration

Ever had screen resolution problems when deploying your application from your development system to the Runtime environment?

Ever struggled to deploy an HMI/ SCADA application to more than one monitor?

Helping users eliminate these small but time-consuming inconveniences was at the heart of Copa-Data’s development of zenon’s multi-monitor management tools.  Using zenon, Copa-Data’s HMI/ SCADA suite, very little additional effort is required to:
• Deploy to single or multiple monitor projects
• Adapt to various resolutions automatically

In addition, zenon’s virtual monitor environment allows for development of a multi-monitor project on a single monitor system.

How does zenon’s multi-monitor management work?

You can use zenon’s multi-monitor management on any Windows PC that supports multi-monitors.  Use zenon to configure your monitor set-up as you want it, without the need for additional 3rd party software or expensive additional hardware.  You can manage which pictures go on to which monitors directly from your SCADA system.

You can now bring together the most diverse environments in a single project.

For example:
• Developer’s don’t have to do design work for a multi-monitor system with multiple monitors.  Simply use zenon’s virtual monitor environment to see all screens on the one monitor.
• In a control room the project is displayed on a four-monitor system, on the maintenance laptop the same project can be managed with just one monitor.

An additional benefit of the zenon multi-monitor management is relative picture call up. This gives operators the flexibility to call up a picture to the screen they are working on, its designated screen, or another screen elsewhere.  The picture is displayed on every monitor on which it is called up.

Furthermore, zenon’s multi-monitor management also allows the adjustment of fixed target resolutions. (for example, 320x240 pixels for ¼ VGA CE terminals) even though a completely different resolution is projected.

What does this mean for you?

• Create really intuitive interfaces for users
• Reduce errors in operation
