Perfect integration for reduced efforts: straton and zenon with IEC60870.

Up to now, the integration of zenon and straton was implemented with the proprietary straton32 driver. Now, everything is getting even more simple and efficient. The integration of these two ingenious programs is now also based on the IEC60870 driver. For users, this means freedom of choice, or: do it your way.

Integration means that variables supposed to be exchanged between zenon and straton are created right away on the according drivers during engineering. Automation projects profit from the reduction of user actions.

When creating a straton project, you now have the choice: you can either have the straton Runtime communicate with zenon via the straton32 driver or via IEC60870. COPA-DATA and COPALP have outfitted their programs with the IEC stack according to the IEC60870-5-101 standard for serial communication and the IEC60870-5-104 standard for network communication. Whether you choose the name based straton32 driver or the address based IEC60870 driver – zenon and straton support both ways, offering equal convenience. Every change on one side will automatically be performed on the other side.

An example: If you change the type ID of a variable in straton from 1 (single point information) to 30 (single point information with time tag CP56Time2a), zenon will automatically adopt this change in the variable properties. And this is your benefit:

You do not have to import anything and cannot forget about any important changes.
Additionally, the variable names are the same in both systems; you can now forget about recognition problems or address parameters for assigning variables.
