COPA-DATA establishes subsidiary for Central and Eastern Europe

On June 1st, 2009, the new subsidiary of the European automation expert COPA-DATA, focusing on the Central and Eastern European area, went into business. The new subsidiary is based in the COPA-DATA headquarters in Salzburg. As a renowned producer of HMI/SCADA software for industrial automation, COPA-DATA takes another important step in the continuous expansion of its international network.

What used to be an internal sales department of COPA-DATA, now enters the market as an independent business with a supra-regional focus. The entire sales staff was taken over into the new subsidiary and reinforced with new members of the CEE team.

Alexander Punzenberger, General Manager of the new subsidiary for Central and Eastern Europe, appreciates this structural change: “In recent years, we have built up a lot of valuable know-how in different markets and continuously developed our position as a professional provider of automation solutions. Especially in times of economic uncertainty, it is important to have a well-structured organization and a clearly defined market position.”

With the establishment of this new subsidiary, Thomas Punzenberger, CEO and founder of COPA-DATA, wants to bring more transparency into the whole company, “We are trying to create identical structures in all the countries we are engaged in, in order to ensure a uniform market appearance and strategy.” Sales activities will now be performed exclusively by the subsidiaries, with the established key account management in the COPA-DATA central assuming a supporting role.

There will only be minor administrative changes to the business relation with existing COPA-DATA customers due to this expansive action. Dedicated contact persons for support and marketing requests will ensure the independent handling of all tasks within the new subsidiary.
