High quality, well proven and real time capable
zenon has been designed to be completely real time capable. The time stamping occurs already in the control. If that is not possible, zenon stamps after the data is received. In exaclty that moment the status is added to the data point as well.
The control transmits the value including time stamp and status information to the zenon driver as an inseparable entity. This entity is used in all modules (Alarm Administration, CEL, Archives, etc.). This way protocols can be safely interpreted and retroactive error search becomes easier.
Innovative with spontaneous data traffic
It’s not the size that matters, but the flexibility. Therefore, for zenon spontaneous data traffic is self-evident. Even extensive systems stay fast and flexible
as only the variables are registered with the control – instead of cyclical polling. The control then reports only changes in value to the driver, which unburdens the network considerably. Internally zenon always communicates spontaneously with the drivers.
With analogue variables a hysteresis can be engineered. This way the value is only sent to zenon when a threshold value is under or overstepped. This is an easy way to get a grip on fluttering analogue values that burden the system with unnecessary alarms.
zenon shows how future-oriented software works, especially regarding the status processing in the standard SCADA-System and the full integration of hardware monitoring such as SNMP or resources of the data processor.
