Hitting the market faster with DIMA
International automation technology player WAGO has been working on a concept to efficiently individualize production facilities since 2014. It should enable manufacturers to combine stand-alone production modules to create a flexible overall infrastructure which significantly decreases a product’s time-to-market. DIMA utilizes the paradigm of service-oriented architecture (SOA) and builds on the standardized approach of the NAMUR 1.12 committee.
New paths in process automation
COPA-DATA’s zenon software contributes to the project. zenon uses standardized descriptions of modular production facilities, called module type packages (MTP), to automatically create each individual process control system.
