Profile of the education and research facility:
For over 20 years, the degree in Information Technology and Systems Management (ITS) at Salzburg University of Applied Sciences has been facilitating in-depth, interdisciplinary education in the field of information technology. The research community that has grown around the degree course plays a vital role in strengthening Salzburg's reputation as a center of technology. Its application-oriented work at a regional, national, and international level provides key competencies that help to advance solutions to technological challenges.
Focus of research:
The focus of the ITS research community is currently industrial IT. This includes topics such as data acquisition, preparation, visualization, and processing as well as IT security and the use of artificial intelligence. New software architectures and contemporary concepts such as digital twins and the use of collaborative mobile robots round off the ITS R&D portfolio. In particular, the university is working with COPA-DATA in the Smart Factory Lab to try out the technologies that are set to shape industry over the next few years.
