Our apprenticeship program
Apprentices start with us on September 1 of each year. They then learn the basics during their first year. After that, they gain a lot of hands-on experience working in the various teams. Parts of this training include, among others:
Basics of C programming
Basics of C++ programming
Basics of C# .NET programming
Working on automating our own facilities.
Introduction to the zenon software platform.
What types of training programs are available?
Everyone’s path in life is different. That’s why we offer a variety of training programs. Which one is the best fit for you?

Standard apprenticeship: The standard apprenticeship lasts 4 years.

Apprenticeship with Matura: You’ll be excused from work on Fridays to attend the 6-hour Matura course.

Accelerated apprenticeship: Depending on your prior education, the apprenticeship can also be completed in a shorter period.

Dual Academy: If you have an AHS Matura, you can complete an accelerated vocational training program.
- Adult apprenticeship: The apprenticeship for anyone 18 years of age or older.

Marko, our apprentice mentor, will guide you through your apprenticeship . He’s there for you, ready to offer advice, and you’ll enjoy learning from him and with him. We make sure your work schedule is coordinated to fit your training sessions, exams, and projects.

What comes after the apprenticeship?
Just like with Martina, all paths are open to you after your apprenticeship. Whether you choose product development, quality assurance, customer support, project development, or technical sales depends on your interest in the specific field as well as our current needs. Our goal is to offer permanent positions to as many apprentices as possible after they complete their training.

A break from the daily grind
Our apprentice days are a chance to get away from the daily grind. Instead of coding, these days are all about team building.
Your path to an apprenticeship at COPA-DATA
We have established a standardized 5-step process for selecting apprentices.

What? Apply by submitting your resume, cover letter, and most recent school transcript or certificates for relevant courses you’ve taken. Grades aren’t everything—we know that. In your cover letter, tell us what interests you about an apprenticeship at COPA-DATA and whether—and, if so, what kind of—experience you’ve already gained in the field of coding.When? You can submit your application here at any time — the sooner, the better. We may not be able to consider applications that arrive too close to the open house. Don’t worry—we’ll review your application materials, and if anything is missing, we’ll contact you. -
What? We've put together an online assessment that includes various verbal and math problems, logic puzzles, and a concentration challenge. We want to see how you approach and solve these problems. The online assessment also gives you the chance to see which of the tasks you enjoy the most.When? We’ll send you more detailed information about the online assessment and a link to take it as soon as we’ve reviewed your complete application materials. The link is valid for two weeks. You can take the online assessment from the comfort of your home computer whenever it’s convenient for you.

What? We’d like to invite you to come visit us so we can get to know you in person. That way, you can get to know the people behind COPA-DATA, see where we work, and ask any questions you have about our apprenticeship program.
When? We’d like to set aside plenty of timefor our in-person meeting. That’s why we’ll contact you well in advance so we can work together to find a date that works for both of us.

What? The final step is a group trial day at our company. We’ve prepared typical tasks for apprentices that everyone can try out. For us, it’s all about working together—you as future apprentices with each other, and us working together with you.
When? The trial day will take place at our company in early March. We’ll send you the exact date and time along with your invitation to the open house. We look forward to seeing you!

What? You'll receive an offer for an apprenticeship with us. And, of course, a contract. Once all questions have been answered and the contract has been signed by both parties, you'll kick off your career with an apprenticeship at COPA-DATA.
When? You’ll receive your contract in June to review and sign.

What? Once you’ve been selected as an apprentice, your apprenticeship in application development will begin—of course, in the training program that’s right for you.
When? Once the paperwork is complete, you can sit back and look forward to starting your apprenticeship on September 1.

Our apprentices learn how to code and will get to know our zenon software platform, along with the other teams. At COPA-DATA, apprentices work on actual projects and gain real insights into their future profession.

Public transport ticket
As an apprentice with us, you can travel throughout the entire state of Salzburg. Apprentices receive a SUPER s'Cool Card or a Klimaticket for the state of Salzburg.

Your success pays off. Our apprentices receive a one-time bonus for their achievement on their excellence grade reports.
