The Role

We’re looking for a Senior Account Executive – Life Sciences to drive new business growth with pharmaceutical and biotech manufacturers, CDMOs, and system integrators. This is a strategic enterprise software sales role—no calls to doctors or drug sales. Instead, you’ll partner with Life Sciences organizations to deliver compliance, efficiency, and digital transformation at scale.

We want a consultative, Challenger-style hunter who thrives on identifying opportunities, creating urgency, and winning complex deals. You’ll reframe customer thinking, uncover hidden value, and guide buying groups toward decisive action by engaging stakeholders across Operations, IT/OT, Quality, Regulatory, and Engineering. Regular travel is required, so candidates should be based near a major airport.

As Energy Industry Sales, you’ll be embedded in the COPA-DATA USA Team, reporting to the Managing Director and working closely with both the US and International Teams of COPA-DATA. Your involvement into the Energy Industry will help to ensure that our product will comply to the North-American (NA) market specific requirements and that the future needs are properly evaluated and communicated within the organization. Through the involvement with the key-drivers as well as the appropriate Associations of that industry you will provide a major contribution for the placement of future product features.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive Growth: Prospect, qualify, and close new business opportunities with a focus on Life Sciences manufacturing.
  • Lead the Sales Cycle: Own opportunities from lead generation to close, consistently exceeding quota.
  • Inspire Change: Apply Challenger methodology to reframe customer thinking and guide buying groups to action.
  • Build Influence: Engage diverse stakeholders (QA, Operations, IT/OT, Engineering) to build consensus and win deals.
  • Collaborate Globally: Partner with Product, Marketing, and Solution Engineering teams to deliver tailored solutions.
  • Represent COPA-DATA: Attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows to position zenon as the platform of choice.
  • Stay Current: Keep up with trends (Annex 11, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, GAMP 5, Modular Type Package/MTP) and show how zenon drives compliance and business value.
  • Ensure Excellence: Maintain accurate forecasting, pipeline management, and CRM documentation in Salesforce or similar.

Skills & Qualifications

  • 7+ years of enterprise software sales experience, ideally in Life Sciences manufacturing, automation, MES, SCADA, or data platforms.
  • Proven hunter with a strong track record of acquiring new logos and exceeding quota.
  • Ability to close complex, multi-stakeholder deals with 6–18 month sales cycles.
  • Strong consultative/Challenger sales expertise with insight-led conversations.
  • Knowledge of Life Sciences manufacturing operations (batch records, compliance, validation, automation systems).
  • Comfortable engaging C-level executives and technical/engineering stakeholders.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S. (visa sponsorship not available).
